Tim Morehouse posted a new post to his blog and at the fencing.net forums. I’m really happy for what he’s doing as he and Jason Rogers have been going all out promoting fencing and TenThousandFencers.

Here’s what he had to say:

On an interesting note, Jason and I have just recently started working with a PR and marketing company and we’re hoping to continue to brand ourselves and get the sport of fencing out to more people. This is a pretty big step for us and hopefully for fencing in general. To actually have a major company behind us pitching us and working professionally on a marketing campaign is certainly a step in the right direction. So far its been just Jason and I doing all the leg work, but now we should be able to do an even better job of promotion and creating opportunities. Hopefully, we will be able to show sponsors and others that fening is a sport with great athletes and stories worth covering on a more regular basis. I guess we shall see what happens over the next few months! Stay tuned!

Excellent work Tim! (Now, why hasn’t the USFA been going all out with this sort of strategy? They fell flat on their faces in 2004 and didn’t seem organized enough to hand off a marketing and promotion strategy to the new officers - who came into office right after the Olympics.)
