Rogers wins DE v Hüebner

Jason’s bout with Hüebner starts out slow. Both fencers take some time getting used to the ref. But Jason eventually digs out of a hole to finish ahead 8-6 at the break.

Due to some technical difficulties, I am also able to say that after the break Jason found his rhythm and won 15-8.

Daryl is currently up 5-2 and looking in control against Apithy of France.

Dallas WC -Day 2 – MS DEs

First set of 64s are up. James was up 8-1 at the break against Evan Prochniak. A decent come back is underway though….wait…and James closes it out at 15 – 10.

Val Staller is now up 11-9 on Canadian Beaudry and, for the record, Montano, much like Jimi, is better in person…

Dallas WC – Day 2 – WS Pools

Women’s Saber pools are finished. Sadly I missed the warming up but the pools themselves were good watching. The women are moving straight from pools to the second day. No preliminary DEs. All but 5 Americans made it through. Notable bouts in the first round of the tableau for tomorrow include Daria Schneider fencing Siobhan Byrne, a NAC/NCAA regular; Dagmara Wozniak fencing Eileen Grench; and Monica Aksamit fencing Lucchino, an Italian.

Interesting draws, some involving a lot of familiarity between the fencers. Perhaps the quest for team spots could get interesting?

DWC – Day 1 – DEs

Thomas Kolasa over Will Spear 15-12 I believe in the first round. Fischl 15-12 over Arai fron Japan. Luther Clement loses to Pilasewicz 15-14 after being up 14-13. The call to go to 14-14 was a very tight Attack in Prep -No, Attack- Arrives call. Val Staller closes it out at 14-11 after tensing up a tad toward the end for a few easy touches. Up and coming Jr. fencer Coccia makes against Shimamura of Japan, leading 11-10 before dropping at 15-11. Rhys Douglas out to Frenchman Woog and Kolasa the elder (Matt) is trying to dig out of an 11-5 hole against Lallement. The Kolasa bout takes a break as behind me Canadian Mayer is in a 14-14 bout with a Ukrainian fencer. The Ukrainian wins on a tight call in the center as Mayer screams bloody murder to referee Wes Glon. Meanwhile Matt Kolasa finishes with a 15-9 loss as the defecit is just too much to overcome and the day comes to a close (minus Nic Limbach taking a lesson in a corner).

I may have missed a few. But you get most of the idea. Soon the real DE tableau for tomorrow will be posted. I’m gonna go watch that lesson.
