Safety Alert: Wuxi Brand FIE Banned for Sale in Europe!
Just received confirmation and the EU report that bans the sale of the Wuxi brand of FIE uniforms because they have failed the CEN level 2 safety testing. No word yet from the FIE on Wuxi’s status, nor on the status of the FIE mask, but based on the first FIE Wuxi mask that I had seen, I would want that retested as well.
Full story on Fencing.Net: Wuxi Uniforms deemed not up to FIE Standards
Now this will probably create another blitz of anti-China sentiment on the quality and manufacture of their goods. There are some products manufactured in China that are good and some that aren’t. That’s why it is important for us to continually receive reviews of the products from the different manufacturers.
Share the story, please. We all as a community need to make sure that we’re keeping everyone safe and that consumers are getting what they are paying for.

It proves that the secret deal between wuxi factory and FIE SEMI is true. It would be better to pay more for uniform of better reputation.

I had been told from a team Chinese national team fencer: why they use European products than their own Chinese made for their safety gears.
He said that may be true Wuxi can gain the FIE approval. The tricks is they sent the up to standard materials and samples for the CE and FIE test and made with other non approved(cheaper) material for the market. If they made with the approved materials the cost will be very closed to the European products. As a fencer and concern your safety and money what will you choose??
That is why there are two versions on the test reports, one from UK (the product on the market)and one from Wuxi (the product form the laboratory) I believe both reports are true and sound.
We need to have some wisdom to choose the what you want to buy for your safety issue.
